I don't really remember when the last time I sent a letter home was, so this is what I have been up to the last couple months.
To start, I am currently serving in Sanford, Florida, and it is the most interesting place I have served so far. I have had some incredible experiences and have served here with Elder Loken, Helms, Stemmons, Smith, Hill and Anderson. We are having transfers on the 13th of July, so I will be receiving a new Elder who is Elder Hill.
One of the best experiences that I have had in this area was when I gave a blessing to one of our investigators and he felt the spirit very strongly. We talked after it and he felt really special to be a part of it. Another great experience was when we were at a member meal and we were sharing a message about how we strive after Jesus Christ. I was talking and for some reason I said how tithing is a great example of faith. I for one didn't expect myself to say that, but the sister that cooked for us came alive and started crying. She then went into a story about how she had been blessed from paying tithing instead of the electrical bill. That was a great example of how following the spirit can guide us to what people need.
So far I have been out for 8 months and I don't really know where the time went, but this has been the best 8 months of my life. I have had great people to teach and learned more from reading the Book of Mormon. I also have started to get back into my cooking and have solidified myself as the best cook in the FOM (Florida Orlando Mission). I most commonly refer to it as the mad scientist lab because one of the other Elders loves protein powder and we have experimented with what we can make with it. Most recently I have made Creme Brulee and it turned out great!
